how to address the issue of additional file extension or double extension in azure databrick

when synching notebook from azure data brick to azuredevops file creates as saye notebooktest.py , same goes to azuredevops repository and when synching notebook to higher environment the .py extension remains in the adb workspace and if the source file gets downloaded – it is downloaded as filename.py.py – how to address this .
